As part of the Art of Noise exhibition, I was invited by SFMOMA (San Francisco Museum of Modern Art) to curate an eclectic selection of records with dynamic range from all around the world on Devon Turnbull’s HiFi Pursuit Listening Room Dream No. 2, a meditative 50-person space. Under the moniker OJAS, Devon Turnbull's coveted audio systems can be found in Supreme stores and the homes of celebrity music producers.
A love for music discovery and soundtrack, community and public speaking landed Charlotte on Public and Online Radio where she blends brand new tracks, remixes, and soundtracks from around the world, with thoughtful interviews.
From 2022- now: Weekly Radio Show as Charlotte K on NPR’s Bay Area FM Local Station KALW - Listen here
From 2017-2020: Brøøklyn English was a bi-monthly radio show on New York’s online radio Thelotradio.com, that fosters an international and eclectic network of new music. Each episode features Charlotte’s own DJ sets and her interviews of guests such as Charlotte Adigery and Bolis Pupul (Deewee), Sessa, Malcolm Mooney (Can), Suzanne Ciani (Pioneer female composer), Clap! Clap!, Christophe Chassol, Jason Lindner (David Bowie, Mulatu Astatke), Sam Valenti (Ghostly International founder), and Bastard Jazz (Lord Echo, Illa J) . Brooklyn English often blends all these influences into DJ sets all around New York City (Moodring, Black Flamingo, Donna), Moogfest in Durham (NC) and Athens (Georgia), or Berlin (Lotus Hall), at Festivals (Moogfest), and record fairs, and through the Disco Tehran parties. | Archives here and some Soundcloud Mixes here
As a side and passion project under the moniker Brøøklyn English and in collaboration with The Lot Radio, Luaka Bop Recods, and Boiler Room, I curated a sold out event (200 people) at San Damiano Mission (Greenpoint, Brooklyn) featuring rituals, live cinema, music travels, meditation, spirituality about and by amazing people: Legendary musician Alice Coltrane and her ashram, renown film director Vincent Moon (La Blogotheque’s Co Founder) with Director, Photographer, and writer Priscilla Telmon in collaboration with the one and only musician Laraaji.
